2025 Audi A6 e-tron: Audi’s affordable electric sedan
Audi introduces the 2025 A6 e-tron as a more accessible electric alternative to its earlier, pricier models like the Taycan-based e-tron GT. Starting at approximately $70,000, this new sedan offers a more budget-friendly entry into Audi’s electric lineup. The higher-powered 422-hp version will be around $80,000, with the high-performance S6 e-tron surpassing $90,000. Sales are set to commence in late spring 2025, with pre-orders opening in September 2024.
Pricing and availability
The 2025 Audi A6 e-tron will feature several variants, beginning at around $70,000 for the rear-drive model. Prices will rise to about $80,000 for the more powerful 422-hp variant and exceed $90,000 for the performance-focused S6 e-tron. The model will be available for purchase starting late spring 2025, with pre-orders beginning in September 2024.
Design and features
The new A6 e-tron boasts a stylish, lozenge-shaped design with a Sportback hatch. Unique OLED taillights offer customizable options through the vehicle’s settings. While other markets will receive an even more stylish Avant (wagon) version, there is currently no information on an Allroad variant for this model.
Interior and technology
Inside, the A6 e-tron features a modern design shared with the Q6 e-tron, including a 14.5-inch infotainment screen and an 11.9-inch driver display.
An optional 14.5-inch display for the passenger adds entertainment options. The panoramic glass roof offers customizable transparency and can display different designs. The vehicle provides 26 cubic feet of cargo space under the hatch and a small front trunk.
Battery range and charging
The A6 e-tron comes with a 94.4-kWh battery, offering an estimated range of up to 350 miles. It supports fast charging with up to 270 kW on an 800-volt system, allowing a 10 to 80 percent charge in about 21 minutes. On a 400-volt connection, it can charge at up to 135 kW. The onboard charger supports 11 kW for AC charging.
Performance
Performance varies by model: the base A6 e-tron reaches 60 mph in 5.2 seconds, the Quattro model in 4.3 seconds, and the S6 e-tron in just 3.7 seconds. The aerodynamic design achieves a low drag coefficient of 0.21 in European versions, though it may be slightly higher elsewhere.
Audi’s electric future
The 2025 A6 e-tron will join the existing gas-powered A6 models next year, eventually replacing the internal combustion version. This transition highlights Audi’s commitment to electric vehicles as the future of their sedan lineup.
