Chery Fulwin T10: World record and hybrid innovation

The Chinese automotive giant Chery has set an impressive world record with its Fulwin T10, a plug-in hybrid SUV. Covering a distance of over 2,100 kilometers, the Fulwin T10 shattered the previous record by an astonishing 300 kilometers.

The journey, which began on July 17, spanned from Shangri-La through Kunming and Zhanjiang, concluding in Zhuhai. This remarkable feat highlights not only the exceptional range of the Fulwin T10 but also the reliability of Chery’s cutting-edge hybrid technology.

Real-World performance under everyday conditions

According to Chery, the record-breaking drive was conducted under normal daily conditions, showcasing the practical capabilities of its hybrid system. Over three days, the Fulwin T10 tackled diverse terrains, including urban areas and highways. This variety of driving scenarios underscored the versatility and efficiency of Chery’s revolutionary Super Hybrid C-DM plug-in hybrid system.

  • All-Wheel drive variant: 455 kW (610 hp) and 960 Nm torque.
  • Front-Wheel drive variant: 280 kW (375 hp) and 610 Nm torque.

The hybrid powertrain combines a 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbo engine with up to three electric motors. The combustion engine produces 115 kW (154 hp) and 220 Nm of torque, while the 35 kWh battery, developed by CATL, provides an all-electric range of up to 210 kilometers (based on the CLTC cycle).

Chery’s hybrid innovation comes to Europe

Chery has ambitious plans to introduce its advanced hybrid technology to the European market. The system, which will be implemented in various models globally, offers a competitive edge in the automotive industry.

According to Jochen Tüting, CEO of Chery Europe, the Fulwin T10 serves as a blueprint for upcoming European models. Starting in 2025, vehicles equipped with this technology will be available in Germany and other European countries under the brand names Omoda and Jaecoo, reinforcing Chery’s commitment to strengthening its European presence.
