From the Maruti Suzuki eVX to the Tata Curvv EV, these are the top 5 electric SUV’s eagerly awaited in 2024.

The year 2024 is poised to be a landmark for all-electric SUV’s. In March 2024, EV sales saw a remarkable surge, significantly advancing the Central Government’s 2020 sustainability goals. Retail sales of passenger vehicles, including SUV’s, skyrocketed by 90 percent compared to 2023. Overall, FY 2024 experienced a 42 percent increase in the entire electric vehicle segment. With SUV’s on the cusp of capturing over 50 percent of the automobile market share in India, manufacturers are preparing to launch new electric SUV models. Before you make your final decision, consider these top five electric SUV’s.

Citroën Ë-C3 Aircross

Following the success of the C3 hatchback, Citroën is set to introduce the all-electric Ë-C3 Aircross. While the petrol version of the SUV debuted in September 2023, it has struggled to gain traction in the market. The new electric variant aims to capture the growing demand for EV’s and strengthen Citroën’s position in the competitive SUV segment.

As a midsize SUV, the French automaker will need to equip the ë-C3 Aircross with a larger battery, surpassing the 29.2kWh capacity of the ë-C3. Citroën is anticipated to maintain the existing configurations, offering the electric SUV in both 5-seater and 7-seater options. This strategic move aims to meet the demands of the growing midsize electric SUV market.
