Xiaomi SU7 Ultra sets new record
Xiaomi SU7 Ultra sets record as fastest production electric car on the Nürburgring
Xiaomi has achieved a major milestone with the SU7 Ultra, clocking an impressive official lap time of 6:46.874 on the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife. This achievement crowns the SU7 Ultra as the quickest production electric car to ever conquer the famed circuit. With this performance, Xiaomi firmly establishes itself as a formidable player in the world of high-performance electric vehicles.

For a long time, the Rimac Nevera held the unofficial crown as the fastest electric car, though its limited production run has led many to exclude it from the category of true mass-production vehicles. Even without that distinction, Xiaomi’s feat is remarkable. The SU7 Ultra managed to outperform the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT, which set a lap time of 7:07.55 back in 2024.
This milestone marks a turning point for Xiaomi, showcasing the company’s ambitions beyond the smartphone industry. With the SU7 Ultra, Xiaomi is staking its claim in the realm of high-performance electric vehicles. Nevertheless, the company remains grounded. On Weibo, founder Lei Jun expressed that the record might not hold for long. “I believe this record will soon be broken again,” he acknowledged.
