BYD models you’ll see soon in Europe!

BYD is making significant strides, particularly in the international market, and the Chinese brand shows no signs of slowing down. In quick succession, it has launched the Super 8, Bao 3, Bao 8, and Z9 GT, ranging from compact crossovers to rivals for the Taycan Sport Turismo and even hypercars. There’s a strong likelihood that some of these models will make their way to Europe. The BYD vehicles available for purchase here in Europe? Often sold under a sub-brand of the giant in their home country of China. Important information to consider before reading further, as sub-brands Denza and Fang Cheng Bao have just unveiled a host of new models. Let’s dive straight into the car that excites us the most, the Z9 GT. An electric shooting brake that you can confidently consider as the BYD alternative to the Porsche Taycan Sport Turismo. The specs are impressive; Two electric motors deliver a combined 952 hp to all four wheels. With its length of 5.2 meters and weight of 2,875 kg, this will lean more towards being a “sporty GT” than a thoroughbred sports car.

Also on the list are two new models from Fang Cheng Bao. These are the Bao 3 and Bao 8. The former is an entry-level SUV with a rugged design, while the Bao 8 appears to be derived from the YangWang U8, another sub-brand of BYD. Whether these cars will make the leap to Europe is not entirely clear, although you never know with BYD.

BYD Super 9 - electric sportscar

In addition to SUV’s rivals, there’s also room for a great Supercar. It goes by the name of the Super 9, is entirely electric, and seems to draw inspiration from the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Stirling Moss from a few years ago. Although we might be unfair to its design, considering that designer Wolfgang Eggert previously penned cars for Audi and Lamborghini! BYD celebrates its thirtieth anniversary in 2025, and rumors are circulating that this Super 9 is a birthday gift to itself. We certainly won’t complain!
