Genesis Unveils GV90 Flagship Electric SUV With 490 kW, 123.5 kWh Battery and Coach Doors
Genesis has officially revealed the GV90, its flagship all-electric SUV built on the new eMP platform, pairing a 123.5 kWh gross battery with 490 kW of dual-motor all-wheel-drive power, an estimated 500 km range and rear coach doors; the model launches on 9 September 2026 in standard and Neolun variants.

The GV90 is built on Hyundai Motor Group's new eMP (Electric Mobility Prime) platform, developed exclusively for Genesis flagship models and distinct from the E-GMP architecture used across the group's volume electric vehicles. The electric drivetrain pairs a motor at each axle in a permanent all-wheel-drive layout, each equipped with its own electronic limited-slip differential, for a combined maximum output of 490 kW (657 hp) and 800 Nm of torque. A 123.5 kWh gross battery pack (115 kWh net) supplies the motors; Genesis estimates an internal test range of approximately 500 km. Charging from 10% to 80% using a 350 kW DC charger takes 22 minutes.
At 5,300 mm long, 2,000 mm wide and 1,800 mm tall, the GV90 is the largest production model across all Hyundai Motor Group brands. A signature design element is rear coach doors — hinged at the back, they open without a B-pillar to give wide step-in access to a six-seat cabin with a minimalist interior layout.
Genesis will offer the GV90 in two versions: a standard model targeted at rivals such as the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV, and the GV90 Neolun — a higher-specified variant positioned against ultra-luxury electric SUVs including the Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV and the forthcoming Range Rover Electric.
