Kia Reveals PV7 Electric Van at IAA With 800-Volt Architecture, Two Battery Options and Up to 460 km Range
Kia unveiled the PV7 at IAA Transportation in Hanover on 14 September 2026, its second all-electric Platform Beyond Vehicle van alongside the PV5: a 5,350 mm long model with 800-volt architecture, 71.5 or 96.2 kWh battery options, up to 460 km of WLTP range in the Cargo variant with the larger pack, a 25-minute charge from 10 to 80 per cent at 350 kW, and a 200 kW front motor; a passenger variant seats up to nine in European specification and European sales start in the second half of 2027.
Kia officially unveiled the PV7 on 14 September 2026, the opening day of IAA Transportation in Hanover, expanding its Platform Beyond Vehicle commercial line-up beyond the smaller PV5 van.
The PV7 measures 5,350 mm in length on a 3,500 mm wheelbase, making it substantially longer than the Ford E-Transit Custom and Renault Trafic E-Tech. Two battery packs are offered: 71.5 kWh and 96.2 kWh, both using NMC cell chemistry. With the larger battery, the Cargo variant achieves up to 460 km of range on Kia's internal WLTP measurement. Both batteries feed a 200 kW, 420 Nm front-mounted motor. A rear-wheel-drive variant is planned for a later date.
The 800-volt electrical architecture allows a full 10–80 per cent charge in approximately 25 minutes at a 350 kW station. The van offers two charging ports: a combined AC/DC inlet at the front and an optional AC port at the rear, designed for depots where manoeuvring space is limited.
Kia will offer the PV7 in Cargo and Passenger body styles. In European specification the Passenger model carries up to nine people; a longer eleven-seat configuration is available in South Korea.
European market entry is planned for the second half of 2027. The PV7 follows the PV5, which Kia has already delivered to fleet customers including Korea Post, and positions Kia as a direct challenger in the large-format electric van segment alongside Stellantis, Mercedes-Benz and Ford.
