BYD sold 403,472 new-energy vehicles worldwide in June 2026, recording a sales increase for the second consecutive month, according to data released on 2 July 2026. Overseas deliveries reached a new monthly record of 175,349 units, up 95% year-on-year, with international markets accounting for 43% of total sales — the second consecutive month that proportion exceeded 40%. The record overseas result offset a significant contraction at home: domestic China sales fell 22% year-on-year to 228,123 vehicles. By powertrain, battery-electric vehicle sales fell 2.6% year-on-year to 201,472 units, while plug-in hybrid deliveries rose 14.7% to 195,820; the remaining roughly 6,000 units were commercial vehicles. Through the first half of 2026, BYD sold more than 791,000 vehicles outside China. The company targets 1.5 million international deliveries for full-year 2026, above its publicly stated 1.3 million goal. BYD's Szeged assembly plant in Hungary is scaling output to serve the European market. Separately, Electrek reported on 1 July that BYD is on course to record approximately 557,000 BEV deliveries in Q2 2026, which would extend its lead over Tesla on a battery-electric basis to a sixth consecutive quarter.
