ChargePoint announced two US charging network expansions in July 2026: ultra-fast stations at twelve Onvo highway travel plazas across Pennsylvania and New York, and more than 200 new public charging ports across the southeastern United States through a partnership with Optimus Energy Solutions.
ChargePoint announced two separate US charging network expansion programmes in July 2026, extending its reach along interstate highway corridors and across the southeastern states.
The first initiative, unveiled on 14 July, is a partnership with Onvo, a travel plaza operator headquartered in Scranton, Pennsylvania. ChargePoint will deploy ultra-fast charging stations at twelve Onvo highway travel centres along major interstate routes in Pennsylvania and New York. Each location will be equipped with ChargePoint Express Plus systems, designed to deliver high-power charging and serve multiple vehicles simultaneously from a single shared installation.
The second announcement, reported by electrive on 17 July, extends ChargePoint's existing partnership with Florida-based Optimus Energy Solutions. Optimus will deploy more than 200 new public charging ports across the southeastern United States. ChargePoint acts as the exclusive provider of charging hardware, software and associated services; Optimus owns and operates the stations, which are targeted at high-demand locations such as quick-service restaurants and retail centres. Together, the two programmes add significant corridor and suburban charging capacity at a time when ChargePoint is also being integrated into GM's Energy Pass in-app charging platform.
