EVgo Expands Partnership With Regency Centers to Add 400+ Fast Chargers at Grocery-Anchored Shopping Centres Across Nine US States
· EVTrader EV News
EVgo has extended its partnership with retail real-estate operator Regency Centers to install more than 400 new DC fast-charging stalls at grocery-anchored shopping centres in Colorado, Florida, Illinois, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia and additional states, with each site hosting up to 24 high-powered chargers.
EVgo announced on 9 September 2026 that it will expand its long-running partnership with Regency Centers, a real-estate investment trust operating more than 480 grocery-anchored shopping centres across the United States. The agreement adds more than 400 new DC fast-charging stalls to EVgo's network, with sites spread across Colorado, Florida, Illinois, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia and additional states.
Each new EVgo location at a Regency property will feature up to 24 high-powered charging stalls capable of adding significant range in a typical shopping trip. More than 80% of Regency's portfolio is anchored by a major grocery retailer, meaning the charging stops integrate into journeys that drivers already make rather than requiring a dedicated trip. EVgo has operated at Regency locations since 2020 and currently runs more than 150 stalls across existing shared sites.
The expansion is part of EVgo's broader strategy of targeting high-dwell-time retail environments. In 2026 the company has run similar programmes with other large US shopping-centre operators, including a separate deal with Brixmor Properties to add more than 500 stalls. EVgo currently operates more than 1,000 DC fast-charging stations across the United States, offering both CCS and NACS (SAE J3400) connectors at new locations.
