BYD Doubles Its Ultra-Fast Flash Charging Network to 10,000 Stations in Five Months

BYD has commissioned its 10,000th 1.5-megawatt Flash Charging station across more than 300 cities in China — doubling the network in just five months since reaching 5,000 stations in April 2026 — and has announced plans for 3,000 European Flash Chargers as part of a 20,000-station target by year-end.
BYD announced on 27 August 2026 that it had commissioned its 10,000th Flash Charging station in China, covering more than 300 cities. The milestone means BYD doubled its ultra-fast charging network in roughly five months: the 5,000th station had been commissioned in April 2026.
Each Flash Charger delivers up to 1.5 megawatts of power through a single liquid-cooled cable — more than triple the output of the highest-power consumer chargers currently operating in Europe or North America. BYD's newest models equipped with Blade 2.0 batteries and a 1,000-volt electrical architecture can accept this charge rate, enabling a top-up from 10% to 97% state of charge in approximately nine minutes — a duration comparable to a conventional fuel stop.
The rapid rollout is integral to BYD's vehicle product strategy: Flash Charging capability is already built into the brand's top-selling models and forms a key differentiator in the competitive Chinese EV market. electrive confirmed the 10,000-station milestone on 28 August 2026.
BYD has stated a target of 20,000 Flash Charging stations in China by the end of 2026, placing the network roughly on pace to reach that goal. The company has also announced international expansion: 3,000 Flash Chargers are planned for Europe and a further 3,000 for other overseas markets, bringing the ultra-rapid charging infrastructure to the regions where BYD is growing its sales fastest.
