Ionna Tops JD Power's 2026 US EV Public Charging Satisfaction Study With Score of 807 Out of 1,000

· EVTrader EV News

Ionna ranked first in the J.D. Power 2026 US Electric Vehicle Experience Public Charging Study with a satisfaction score of 807 out of 1,000, beating the Mercedes-Benz Charging Network at 797 and the Rivian Adventure Network at 755, while overall DC fast-charging satisfaction improved 12 points year-on-year to 666.

Ionna, the automaker-backed DC fast-charging joint venture, topped the J.D. Power 2026 US Electric Vehicle Experience Public Charging Study, earning a satisfaction score of 807 out of 1,000 — higher than every other eligible network measured. The study is based on responses from 6,594 battery-electric and plug-in hybrid vehicle owners surveyed between January and June 2026, measuring satisfaction across ten factors: charger availability, charging speed, ease of initiating and ending a session, ease of payment, cost, location, safety, physical site condition, and things to do while charging.

The Mercedes-Benz Charging Network placed second with 797 points, 10 points behind Ionna. The Rivian Adventure Network ranked third at 755. Overall average satisfaction with DC fast chargers improved by 12 points year-on-year to 666 out of 1,000 — the strongest annual gain since J.D. Power began tracking the metric — with improvements recorded across all ten measured factors as networks invest in reliability and customer experience.

Ionna opened its first public charging sites in December 2024 and crossed 100 stations by March 2026, becoming the only US DC fast-charging network to offer both CCS1 and NACS (SAE J3400) connectors at every location. Its branded sites, known as Rechargeries, average roughly ten stalls each. J.D. Power attributed Ionna's leading score to consistently reliable hardware, well-maintained sites and straightforward payment processes. The result gives additional backing to the automaker coalition's goal of building a premium charging experience as a measurable competitive advantage.
