XCharge Launches 480 kW C7 Fast Charger With EnBW as Its First German Customer

· EVTrader EV News

XCharge unveiled its new-generation C7 DC fast charger delivering up to 480 kW at Power2Drive Europe in Munich, with EnBW — Germany's largest public fast-charging network — already deploying the hardware at a new 480 kW site in Karlsruhe.

XCharge unveiled the latest generation of its C7 DC fast-charging station at Power2Drive Europe, held in Munich from 23 to 25 June 2026. The new C7 raises maximum output to 480 kW — an increase of 60 kW over the previous 420 kW C7 — and can serve two vehicles simultaneously. The station features a more robust platform architecture, improved thermal management, scalable power modules and enhanced serviceability. EnBW, operator of Germany's largest public fast-charging network, is the first customer and has officially listed XCharge as an approved hardware supplier. EnBW has announced its first German site offering up to 480 kW charging capacity in Karlsruhe; the move takes the network beyond the 400 kW ceiling previously achieved with the Alpitronic chargers that dominate its existing estate. The 480 kW output is well-matched to next-generation 800-volt vehicle platforms capable of accepting very high power levels. The launch reflects intensifying competition among European charging equipment makers to serve the growing installed base of high-power-capable EVs.
